They dont do my area when I entered postcode checker
You may only need to put in your first half of the postcode (like it says)
Strangely it doesn't work if you put in a full postcode."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I've just been to their website and they supply electricity only. Their prices for the Eastern region:
Standing Charge (per month) £5.20 Unit Rate (per kWh) £0.0760 Economy 7 Standing Charge (per month) £5.20 Day Rate (per kWh) £0.0988 Night Rate (per kWh) £0.0540
I was thinking of switching to Ebico and wondered how this compares to their prices?
ETA: Just found out:
12.75p per unit for electricity in Eastern region and of course, no standing charge. If I am using 4kwh a day it would seem Ebico is cheaper?0 -

...
How odd.
The cheapest prices (pocket tariff) I get quoted for Eastern region are:
(direct from suppliers website)
Standing Charge (per month) £5.20 Unit Rate (per kWh) £0.0850 Economy 7 Standing Charge (per month) £5.20 Day Rate (per kWh) £0.1025 Night Rate (per kWh) £0.0502
But I agree, based on the extremely low usage (about £186 per year) you would be better off with Ebico, just. (35p per year by my calculation).
However, you might save upto 11% more with Atlantic (fixed price, cancellation fees apply), or 5% with Scottish Power (variable rate, no cancellation fees, but with paperless billing)
Check using some of the comparison sites in the resource bar above.
Edit: for some reason Energyhelpline quotes for loco2energy in Eastern region are:
Standing Charge (per month) £5.46 Unit Rate (per kWh) £0.0798
which would actually make them cheaper than ebico"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I don't understand why there are different prices for the Eastern region. Strange! I left Scottish Power as they were charging me an Independent Gas Transporter's fee, so switched to Southern Electric. Having seen the way my usage is going think Ebico will be cheaper. (At least there are no tie-ins and I can pay on receipt of bill with them.)0

The above cost comparison was for electricity only, as loco2energy do not currently supply gas as you said.
It's always worth checking separate fuel supplies; dual fuel is not always the cheapest option.
As you are already with SSE for gas, were you aware you could change to ebico as a simple tariff change? This means if you call SSE, they should be able to transfer you to the ebico equigas tariff immediately rather than going through the complicated switching process that would take at least a month."Now to trolling as a concept. .... This is a very good point and one that I had entirely overlooked! Thank you0 -

Thanks Premier! I didn't realise I could switch to Ebico via Southern Electric directly although I knew that Ebico is part of Southern. That's great news, I'll give them a call tomorrow.:T
ETA: I telephoned Southern Electric and the lady that dealt with me said although billing goes through Southern Electric I would have to contact Ebico directly to switch. She gave me a 0845 number but I decided not to call (as I had been on hold a lot with Southern Electric as they tried to sort out a few things). I've applied online instead and it only took minutes.0
