Pah..hardly worth bothering with. Buy some ready readers off the twirly stand in the supermarket/costco/boots/whatever..

And don't say I didn't warn you about the one-sided frown line!!

My sister says her optician said that initially most of us can 'get by' with ready readers, but as time goes by we need a proper prescription, and she's just succumbed. I'm older than her, and I'm still OK with the RRs, which is just as well as I have multiple cheap pairs everywhere I need them, and I really dread having to keep track of one or two pairs!

Thank you so much everyone. I know the prescription is just for readers, but can see no add on. I think following the advice here I shall just go for cheap ones. I rarely need to squint at anything, so am guessing that they would have very little use anyway. I am lucky enough to have free eye test as they are free in Scotland, so will get them checked again in two years or before if things get worse.

This has been a big help and saved me the £150 on two pairs of glasses. I looked at a pair yesterday at £3 which seemed to allow me to see small text. Will take along something that caused me bother and try them again. They were a 1.25 pair.

I am hoping this wont happen

I am still at the satge where they will have very little use. Occaisionally I find a bit of text such as a bar code or terms and conditions that are hard to read.
