Installing fedora

Due to an earlier problem installing fedora - I seem to have missed my chance at running "firstboot"

Any idea how to run it now that it isn't my first boot.

When I boot into fedora I go straight to a line prompt for my username and password.

I want an x interface

Any idea how I can start from scratch.

I've tried the obvious:
# firstboot
# /usr/sbin/firstboot
# firstboot -h
# firstboot --help

but I don't seem to be getting any pointers.

Nothing appears to happen? Certainly nothing I want to happen! I want to set up the computer so that I can use it graphically.

From what I remember you need to log in with you user name (root) then what ever you set you password to.

    then type startx

you desktop should now come up.

once you have done this to need to mod a file in the x11 folder to make it start in the GUI every time.

I will repost when I can remember the files name!

Let me know if the startx thing works for you

After the startx thing works for you, you need the change the runlevel value to 5 to be like windows and start with muti user mode with a GUI

you run level values are stored in your x86config file, if your system only boots to text either you have the wrong drivers for your graphics card or you have the run level set to 3

Thanks for that - now I'm just looking for x86config (I know I've seen it somewhere) -
