I am interested in setting up an internet forum for someone, and I have been looking at phpBB.
This requires running on a MySQL database. (I aplogize if my misuse of terminology there makes me sound like a moron ). I currently host another website with 34sp.com, which includes 1 MySQL database. My question is this: is 1 MySQL database all I would require for running a forum or would I need more?

You'll definately be ok with 1 database. Check though with your isp - maybe they have a predefined forum feature already. Cheers0

You will only need 1 mySQL database for the forum. If you already have a cPanel control panel or Fantasico, the phpBB script should come with your hosting package for free. You will also need PHP running on the server. Check with your web host.0

you only need one database for the forum but as Flexible Friend says you will need PHP as well.
My current provider gives me unlimited databases as long as I don't go over my total server space but never needed more than one for my forum
