Anyone experienced JSA sanctions before? Please HELP!

I was sacked for Gross Misconduct. I felt that I was mistreated as I was part of the Management team but was treated unfairly. At the peak of all events an argument flared when I was unjustly asked to leave the Management Office which is commonly shared by everyone in the Management team. During the argument I made a few accusations at my boss who asked me to leave the room as he didn't have a good enough reason to ask me to do. There was no swearing or foul language involved but ultimately I got the sack for it regardless.

My question simply is, will I be entitled to JSA and Housing Benefits given the circumstances? I understand that JSA can be subjected to a sanction and I have heard that this can be anywhere between 2-26 weeks. But can anyone be a little more specific on this? Perhaps someone who has been in a similar situation would be kind enough to share their experience (as to how long they had to wait on their JSA) .This would really help. Also can it affect my housing benefits? I am single and without children currently living on a single-room private tenancy agreement.

Thanks ever so much.

I do not know how long you may be sanctioned for because it is up to a decision maker and is decided on a case by case basis.

If you do not receive JSA you can still make a claim for Local Housing Allowance.

Can the nature of my dismissal affect my Housing Benefits Claim though?

Also is there a 6 month restriction on JSA and LHA benefits if I am still unable to find employment?

So LHA wouldn't have any issue over my dismissal or the nature of my dismissal?

No they would not be concerned with how your job ended.

No, nobody can. The sanction length is entirely at the discretion of the DM deciding the case. Bob might give a case a 26 weeks sanction and Jim sat next to him might give the same case a one week sanction. Both would be equally valid.

from the little information you have given, I'm sorry to say it sounds like a sanction may be appropriate
