Online company sent wrong part, P&P still charged

Options
Hi there, I would be very grateful for any help or advice.

At the begining of October my husband looked online for a reconditioned car part, and a company contacted him saying they had it.

However, when the garage finally received it, it was wrong. We contacted the company to complain, and they arranged to collect it (along with our old part, to see if they had the right one).

They didn't have the right part, so we asked for a refund, and for the old part to be sent back. It took ages, but when we did get the money back, it was just over £70 short. I rang them to complain, and eventually was told that they had taken money off for P&P and admin charges.

Is there any way that I can get this money back? My husband paid by visa, so is there any use contacting them? I threatened the company to take them to a small claims court - but I don't know much about that either!

Thank you in advance for any help!

  • In short, yes, you are entitled to a full refund.

If.. you ordered the part and have proof that you ordered that particular part and the wrong one was sent.

You are entitled to be restored to the position you were in before, they absolutely cannot charge you an admin fee for their own mistake!
