Yacht club-Skegness Butlins

I have booked a 2 week break next July for myself, the hubby and 5 children to go half board.
I have looked online and I can now upgrade for a few pounds for us to take all our meals in the gold yacht club.
Having eaten in the normal silver room on many occassions and its been fine (although trying to get a table to seat 7 has been hard work!!) what I want to know is........
Just how different is the food?
Will we get seated together?
Can the children eat as they please or are they limited to kids menus?
Is it worth the extra to upgrade?
Many thanks in advance

It is the same food, but as you are seated by the waiting staff, you will be guaranteed a table together. The children can eat whatever they wish.
The main difference to me between the Yacht Club and Coral Beach is that it is a lot less busy! For that bit less stress, it is well worth it!Gone ... or have I?0 -
Brill-thank you!
Coral Beach is stupidly busy whenever we have been and because it has been booked for July/August I was really worried about being not sat together-especially now as my little 2 dont need highchairs so need 7 seats!
Do they do a proper carvery? I know in Coral beach it was that 'meat' in gravy type roasts.
What about breakfast? Serve yourself? Any larger selections?

I don't know about the carvery, I'm vegetarian!
Breakfast is the same buffet style, the only difference I can remember is that you can have omelettes made to order (not much choice for me in a full English!). Everything just seems that bit more nicely presented, and the queues aren't across the dining room!
They have some nice big circular tables in the Yacht Club, I'm sure they seated up to eight. Maybe worth giving the centre a call the week before you go? Their direct number is 01754 762311.Gone ... or have I?0 -
We eat in the Yacht Club and loved it, just like a buffet style in a hotel.
You won't regret it.0 -
Many thanks!
Really excited now-only about 200 odd sleeps lol:rotfl: Big Momma to 5 kids:rotfl:

We used the Yacht Club in Minehead a couple of weeks ago and it was great! The meat is a proper carvery (certainly was on the Sunday). The is generally the same but seems to be slightly different/better quality/better presented. They also have cheese and crackers at dinner! Yum! As other posters have said, it's much quieter and far easier to get a table. Well worth it in my opinion. The breakfast does have some differences to Coral Beach that I noticed; croissants, fresh melon/pineapple, more choice of tinned fruits, cold meats. Hope you have a lovely time and I'm so jealous! I wouldn't choose to eat anywhere but Yacht Club now!!I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around0
