Salt and cold water. What ever you do dont use hot as this will set the stain!!!March 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000

If its wet salt is good.
Dry try a solution of washing powder in warm water. Rud in a upward motion then cross ways (not round an round) as you will spoil your carpet.

OH had a major nose bleed last night out of the blue and there's loads of it on the green carpet and his jeans.
Is there any way to remove it without the use of Vanish etc (no shops open)?
I found a Stain Devils no.3(oil, grass, grease) and have blotted this on his jeans and put in the washer at 60 degrees, not sure if this will work though. Concerned about the carpet thoughI've tried washing it with soapy water and it's just spread it out more.
Help appreciated, thanks0 -
Is it not meant to be cold water soak ?
I find a solution of biological washing liquid (or powder although doesn't dissolve as well) can work well. Soak and gently rub at it. I think the enzymes in the bio powder help break it down.
This link might help too.
