Any ideas on how to get blood out from a carpet. Before you ask my dog cut her paw and walked all over the house leaving a bloodstained trail behind her. I've managed to get most of it out, but one bit is defying me.

    Cheers

I hope i've put this in the right place, sorry if I haven't.Just wondering if anyone can tell me how to get bloodstains out of a cream carpet? My 7 year old son had a blood nose and has dripped blood all over the carpet. Someone suggsted to use potato to remove it but that has just smudged the blood and made a bigger mark on the carpetAny other suggestions? Thanks, Lisa xx
  • hi, ive tried one of those cleaning pastes - white so no colour stains left, jml make one called power clean,
put it on with a small damp kitchen sponge, soap up a lather and rinse,

Salt and cold water. What ever you do dont use hot as this will set the stain!!!

If its wet salt is good.
Dry try a solution of washing powder in warm water. Rud in a upward motion then cross ways (not round an round) as you will spoil your carpet.

how do we know that you haven't murdered someone and are looking for a way to get rid of the evidence? Hope we aren't aiding and abetting lol

Bicarb of soda and cold water may work.

OH had a major nose bleed last night out of the blue and there's loads of it on the green carpet and his jeans.

Is there any way to remove it without the use of Vanish etc (no shops open)?

I found a Stain Devils no.3(oil, grass, grease) and have blotted this on his jeans and put in the washer at 60 degrees, not sure if this will work though. Concerned about the carpet though :( I've tried washing it with soapy water and it's just spread it out more.

    Help appreciated, thanks

Is it not meant to be cold water soak ?
I find a solution of biological washing liquid (or powder although doesn't dissolve as well) can work well. Soak and gently rub at it. I think the enzymes in the bio powder help break it down.
    This link might help too.
    Good luck!
