Blood stained carpet !!!!!!!!!!!

Any ideas on how to get blood out from a carpet. Before you ask my dog cut her paw and walked all over the house leaving a bloodstained trail behind her. I've managed to get most of it out, but one bit is defying me.

Sorry, can't help you with the blood stains. But I have to say I was intrigued by your post - so I'm glad you explained where the blood came from - I was imagining a body under the patio :rotfl:  :rotfl:Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0

have you tried using a pile of salt over it to draw it up?0

Hmm- club soda and bicarb - or the very non-OS vanish stain removal bar!0

I've always found that Ace bleach is fabulous for getting rid of blood stains even out of coloured clothes - you can actually see them dissolve before your eyes, and even though it is called bleach it doesn't affect the colour of the clothes. Obviously for a carpet you'd need to do a test patch somewhere unobtrusive first to make sure it didn't leave a stain, but I'd give it a go.0

You can buy a small bottle of hydrogen peroxide from the chemists and dilute it a little and try it on the blood stain - depends what colour the carpet it - I have a heathery wool carpet and when I cut the dogs claw too far and it bled - spots all over the place it took it out but you must wear gloves to use as it strips a layer of skin off your hands!!! belive me I have been there - not a problem but looked bad. Try it somewhere out of sight first - it has taken lots of small stains out for me. Remember though it is a bleach.Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

Diluted white vinegar?0

COLD salt water. Whatever you do, don't allow the stain to heat - it will set the protein in the blood and it will never come out.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

stardrops! they're magic. never tried it on blood though...Total abstinence is so excellent a thing that it cannot be carried to too great an extent. In my passion for it I even carry it so far as to totally abstain from total abstinence itself. Oscar Wilde0

sprinkle salt on it, then dribble cold water on until it makes a past. Leave for a few minutes then scrub it off with cloth soaked in cold water.
It worked for me when my dog ripped her ear on an walk, and shook her head in the sitting room on her return :eek:Here I go again on my own....0
