Guilt trip!!!

Hi everyone
I have not been around for a while cos feel to embarrased (sp)
The reason being Tues week i am going on holiday to marjorca with my mum:o
My mum will be 70 in dec and since my dad died nearly 3 yrs ago has not been away for 16 yrs (apart from his 1st anniversary when i took her away for a week as neither of us wanted to be here and relive it!!)at her suggestion and the agreement of my OH and kid's we have decided to go.
This will put me back one month with my DFW date ( however i have paid cash for everything and not used cc!!)
The reason i feel guilty is more to do with you guys, i feel as i am betraying everyone!!(how stupid!!)
However i really want to get back into the swing of things when i get home, that is why i am posting now( i know i could go away and no one be any the wiser but i feel if i am upfront about it it will be easier to come back!!(mainly cos my sig won't have changed much!!)
I am in true DFW stlye leaving the freezer full of bulk foods for OH and kid's!
I don't know what i'm asking really!! permission to go??
But my debt's may be here a lot longer than my mum!!!

Hey lighten up a bit and give yourself a break and stop feeling so guilty.

You are pushing back your DF date by one month. And you said you are paying cash.

    Enjoy yourself.

    Take care.

    Yours

Have a good time - some things are more important than money and your family is one of them. Moving back one month wont harm anything but it sounds like the family thing will be worth evey penny.

I dont think there's anyone on this board who would begrudge you this!

It would be slightly different if you book a 5* all inc' 3 week holiday to florida, and all new clothes for it, for you, the hubby, the kids etc.

A month isn't going to hurt, not really. You're entitled to share this time with your mum. You're not doing it to hide your head in the sand, you've got it all planned out i.e how far it'll set back the date!

Like you said the debts might be around longer than your mum. So take it as some time out, to reflect, dont go crazy and everything will be ok :)

as calley said, give yourself a break. Have a wonderful time!

I think MSE is more ingrained in you than you want to give yourself credit for! paying for everything cash and not using cards!! now that's proper DFW behaviour!!:T

have a good time and hey, that just means another month we have of your lovely company!!

    Hello mom23

As the others have said, somethings are more important and your mum is definately one of them.

I think that it is lovely that you are taking time away and making such sacrifices to give your mum a special holiday and from the kids.

And the holiday will do you good too, you have done it in good MSE style by paying for it cash and not spanking the credit card :T you will come back more focused and ready to tackle the rest of your debts.

Have a good time and enjoy the valuable holiday with your mum, we are never able to turn back the clock so we have to ensure that we take the time and do these special things whilst our parents are still here.

    Have fun!

I agree! Have a lovely lovely time with your mum. A month's difference will be worth all the memories that you will get going on your holiday!
