    Evening guys

was in work from 8.30am and it was really good! Had a meeting with a manager about "the future" and I feel really positive about it, then had a meeting about the course, then lunch with my colleagues and then did a little retail therapy and bought Evie 4 long sleeved tops, a couple of leggings and some tights for her and then some wooly tights for me so my legs are nice and warm!

I need serious painkillers.....my back "went" on tuesday-can't walk, sit or stand without huge pain...doc just dismissed me as a moaning housewife...grrrr

Ouch nothing worse than severe back pain SRM, I had a slipped disc a few years ago and the pain was unbearable. Try not to sit if you can try lounging or lying on the floor as sitting puts the most strain on your back.

SRM, wheat bags help me, much better than hot water bottles.

I'm drinking strawberry schnapps and lemonade, but it's a bit weak. And defrosting a stew.

Not much change in the last few weeks Becks, he is having alot of trouble with his eye on the affected side as he cant close it so he has been reffered to an eye specialist he is also having speech therapy.

He has been feeling really low lately due to the way he looks so we are trying to keep his spirits up.

Lou - your talk of wine has made me ask Wayne to crack open a bottle of Rose I have chillin in the fridge. I'd get sloshed but piccolina (milk monster) will probably wake up at 1am and I don't think me being blotto will make it easier for me to get up to sort her out!

Toto - being on the other side of student workload disputes, we deal with them in an escalating way... 1) ask the student to go back to group and request workload is distributed in a fair manner (usually by email and to copy us in). If this fails to work and we're asked to intervene I will email the group (and their tutor) and explain how their individual performance is graded as well as their group work and then divulge the grades they are heading for! If one student is doing more work, they tend to get better marks and this will then cause the other students to work together so the marks are evenly distributed (I am a sneaky cow). If this fails to get them working better, then we escalate the complaint to lecturers. Of course sometimes I tell the original student to grow up and other times tell them to deck the troublecauser;)

I sent in my return to work letter telling them I'll be back on 11th January (just cause I have to give 8 weeks notice that I intend to return before my additional maternity leave ends), but I'll be using a week's time of in lieu and two week's annual leave so not officially back at work until February! And strangely, I'm now looking forward to it!
