            Oh god another story full of spin. I wonder what the real figures are. I guess we'll never know as long as there's money in winding people up to sell papers.
 ....But these stories are on their websites....which is sort of non profit making...
 A silly, and probably obvious question, but are retired people on state pensions classed as 'benefits claimants'? If so, that would explain why the district of Easington is so high, what with their population of aged miners...Profit=sanity
 Turnover=vanity
 Greed=inhumanity:dance:0

 Finally made me cry. I just totally give up and despair. As a single person, there's just no hope any more of making a life is there. I can't compete with these people in the workplace, with their top ups employers are paying peanuts that just aren't available to singles.
 The Govt kept inventing new benefits and nobody ever put a top limit on it.
 And on top of all that, "the world" assumes everybody's getting all these top ups so are trousering them and assuming everybody's even better off than they are. It's crazy.
 Off to sob in despair now.
 PN, I'm not sobbing, but DH is entitled to nothing that I know of, and his wage covers us both (Idon't know whether I would be). My guess is there are a fair few couples like us where the single salary is high, but spread across a couple without children its not so generous yet entitlement is lost.0

            I know girls from school who are on their 5th child already, we are mid 20's ages, god knows what they'll be on come 40.
 This is one of the reasons children are so much 'at risk' in our society and the problem's only going to grow as things are.
 Expect many more Baby P cases and don't blame the people trying to safeguard them. It's a losing battle.0

 Importing foreigners that aren't required is not going to help. For some immigrant groups there are two or three times as many unemployed, percentage wise, in the following links (under Unemployment: Ethnic Groups)Originally Posted by kennyboy66

 According to wikipedia, Easington is the "whitest" town in the country (99.2% white).
 Food for though for all the bigots who think asylum seelers are the problem

 No wonder they smash the place up (Oldham, St.Pauls, Toxteth, Bradford, Burnley, Brixton etc....) The jobs aren't there for them. The jobs aren't even there for us!0

 a) you assume that if people have time posting on here, well, they can't be productive, can they? Wrong. Not everyone works 9->5. For some of us, our work begins when normal production systems go offline.
 b) it implies that those not working don't deserve to voice an opinion. I have a dozen friends from the IT world who will be out of work come Xmas. Perhaps you could explain this rational to them? I'm sure it would cheer them up.
 In one of the worst recessions we have seen, being a little less judgemental on those out of work wouldn't do any harm.0
