Hi my laptop is totally busted but I had a genuine XP home addition O/S on the laptop (SP1) but don't have the CD. If I removed the OS on the laptop and stuck a SP2 home edition CD into a new pc, would it accept the CD code?? Which is on the back of the laptop??
Thanks
G.
Thanks

By rights they should have provided you with restore disks.
But you can extract the installation or back it up to another disk then retore your current system quite easily.0 -
I would better trust a Dell Xp disk from Ebay for £10, they just need the COA sticker number to activate...wouldnt trust a copy from there !!Ex forum ambassador

Oh Jeez.
Pleas do not download form Bearshare as it will in all probability come with some form of nasty, Virus, AdWare, Trojan etc, etc.
Do As Browntoa suggests a Dell Disk from ebay.
If you could however get the disks from PB that would be a huge bonus.
Try contacting them
