HSBC Cheque Procedure

Signs in my local branch say if you pay it in (over the counter) before 3:30pm, it will be credited the same day. Certainly worked recently for my account (spookily also an IR cheque - no wonder the govt is skint...).0

Do you mean using the cheque deposit machines which scan the cheque on the receipt?
I've managed to use those to pay in 'large' cheques including the last one I got from HMRC - you just have to be careful as to where you place the paying in slip on top..
Not that I receive many cheques now
Regards
Sunil
Really?? When I first went in I was thinking it won't take it. And it refused to. Tried so many times. Even the HSBC helper man tried and failed. Got bored of trying and just took it upstairs to some lovely females. 2 birds with 1 stone. Pay the cheque and see some fitties. :cool:0
