Spell Check in Outlook Express 6

I have just installed Windows XP Professional on a new computer when I compose an email in Outlook Express 6 and press spelling a message says "An error occured while the spelling was being checked".

Can anyone advise me how to rectify this problem.

You need to have Word installed, as it uses a common spell checker. Do you have Word?

Yes, however there is a freebie one here for users without word.

I do have word 97 installed

You probably need to repair OE 6
