Newcastle is the worst place ever to fly from, none of the budget airlines seem to go anywhere from it! I live nearby and fly to Dublin and Belfast a lot but that it. And Ryanair only fly to Dublin or Girona.

I saw only £32 return in January from Dublin to Prague (I was comparing because I'm going in December). So it might be worth having a look at Ryanair from Leeds if you can get there or even Edinburgh.

A good idea is to fly to Dublin (providing you can get the flights in a 1p or £1 sale) and you arrive around 12. Then you can get a night flight to Paris or somewhere else (I did this recently) and because my OH lives in Ireland we paid in total 6p for all the flights!
