Hi
A few months ago i was fitting my roller blind ( the type with the little white plastic rope thing ) i fitted two white plastic fittings to either side off the window then fitted the roller blind onto these
when i was finished i had a little white plastic thing left over...i threw it away ! ( yep stupid ) it was all working fine untill last week , when iam pulling the plastic rope now it just goes through and through the part at the top and does not pull the blind up now ! obviously i have thrown away the part that would have made it catch , i have been to the local d.i.y shops and cannot seem to purchase the whole new mechanisms
is there any way i could repair this myself as i dont want to have to buy a new blind ?
Thanks

I could be wrong but I think I saw some mechanisms for sale in Dunelm Mill. You should be able to just buy a new mechanism (I was thinking of replacing mine with chrome ones) as you can make roller blinds at home. I am sure the whole kit costs less than £10 so if you can get the mechanism it shouldn't be too expensive either.
Hope you find something0 -
Thanks i will see if i can find them , yes the actually blinds should be easy enough to make as mine fell down last night so also came apart from the ''cardboard roll'' so i just glued back the material on to the cardboard , that one cost me £45 lol and there is nothing to it !

I have a roller blind in our rented flat and twice at the start of our tenancy it snapped one of the bits that holds the tube up (because the blind isn't really wide enough for the window, crappo). Their mechanisms were about £15 but I only wanted this tiny bit of it... I went into John Lewis to the curtains and blind section and both times some nice person found me the right bit in their desk drawer!! Just worth a shot if you live nearby. I don't think our blinds were even from JL.0
