What make laptop?

Dell because their built to upgrade, they're very easy to take apart if you ever wanted to upgrade the ram, change the hard drive, replace the battery or install a new screen yourself, plus there are many out there so spare parts tend to be easily available.
Asus build top quality laptops and if I had the money I'd personally get one. They always top the charts on notebook review.
Acer is the economy laptop. I wouldn't go near it as I've had bad experiences with them. The same goes for HP and Fujitsu.0 -
Well, under my control currently I have:
Dell Inspiron 1300, almost 4 years old and has been trouble free.
HP Pavillion tx2000, about 18 months old, used frequently, reliable and bundles of features, i.e. swivel screen, touch screen, ir remote.
Samsung NC10 great lightweight pc for on the road use, excellent battery life.
Acer, 9 y.o son's pc, not managed to destroy it yet after almost a year.
EMachine 11 y.o son's pc, also not yet destroyed after almost a year.
5 different pc's, all different uses, all fulfilled their requirements, although I don't like using the Acer/Emachines very much due to celeron processors.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

My friend has one, and he's just (quite literally) thrown it in the bin.
Did you mean, you gave it to her before she became the ex-wife, or she was already?
Puts a slightly different slant on it somehow...No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
With a current 24.2% market share, Acer is the best-selling brand of computer in the UK.
The top five are:
1. Acer - 24.2%
2. Dell - 18.3%
3. HP - 17.5%
4. Toshiba - 6.5%
5. Apple - 5%
Your "big player" Sony doesn't even make the top five.
My "big player" comment was in relation to the build quality, service, pedigree, reviews in general - not simply sales. Don't be so facetious next time.0 -

Most Public Organisations have massive contracts with Dell which I would expect to have given it a larger share of the market.0 -

I gave it to her as a present while she was walking out the door.:D

So, you think HP, Dell, Toshiba, etc, offer excellent customer service and build quality?
And you think Acer doesn't?
Yet this makes Acer similar to Lenovo, who in reality make some of the best PC laptops you can buy and are head and shoulders above the above companies in almost every respect?Don't be so facetious next time.
I wasn't aware the issue of laptop manufacturers was such a serious topic that one could be facetious about it.0
