I've got the Bissell Pet Hair Remover - had it almost a year and belt hasn't fallen off yet - i wouldn't have anything but a Bissell, got their carpet cleaner and hard floor cleaner too. Have a look on their website at the Reconditioned section too.A home is not a home ..... without a dog

I can say do not buy the Sebo pet - its the worse one I have ever had, wish now I had saved a bit more when I bought this 18 months ago and gone for the Miele - this one is rubbish!Aim to win in 2013 - a holiday somewhere nice, New York break, treats for family & friends & some cash would be lovely!!!0

Gosh, I am surprised, what a shame. I have a Sebo Felix - wanted a lighter weight than our old Sebo X4 which we were more than happy with but too heavy for me - and I'm very happy with my Felix. I didn't go for the pet version as we have the Miele cylinder Cat & Dog.
I'm sure you know what you're doing and have checked your book, but when I first tried my Felix I couldn't understand why it wasn't picking bits of thread up off the carpet. Took me a while to realise that there was a separate button on the head of the vacuum to operate the brush/beater bar
, I'd just used the switch on the handle. Serves me right for trying to be a know-all and not bothering to read the instruction book :rotfl: .
I'd be tempted to get in touch with Sebo and explain your problem, see what they have to say.0 -

I started another thread or this subject as my search skills failed me
so thought I'd better came here to share my experience too.
After looking for a new vac to deal with our cat hair problem we went for a Roomba in the end. It's not as powerful as a standard vac but the time saving is the main plus point for us. We run it every time the carpet in the hallway starts looking a little mucky. It does do a pretty good job of picking up cat hair and stray litter (even in corners) and we vac "properly" every couple of weeks* to make up the difference. :T
It's not quiet but it's not as noisy as our vac so our cats don't mind it.
Our flat is half parquet/half carpet and it seems to work as well on the one as the other. We do have to pick up some lighter things off the floor before setting it off (cat food bowls for instance). So far we're very pleased with it**.
*our old vac hadn't died, we just got fed up of lugging it around on a Sunday morning after we'd both worked 45 hour work weeks. On top of that the brush gets clogged every couple of minutes grr.
**ahem, he, he's called Ronnie...
