Driving Experience days as a gift
Am considering getting the missus, a driving experience gift for xmas, I have the girly gifts covered, but she is a petrolhead at heart so need something else for her xmas box.
So was wondering if any of you have attended one, and was it any good, Ideally it should be nearish to west yorks, and give some decent driving time.
She was very jealous, when on a corporate visit to Finland, I went on a rally driving course, so rallying rather than driving supercars, might be preferable for her.

I've been on a few. The best was at Jonathan Palmer's place just north of Bedford.0

Read what you are getting carefully. Most only give you a couple of laps or a few minutes in the car.
I got a rally driving experience which really only amounted to about 15 minutes driving. 5 mins in 1 car, 5 in another then a demo lap by the instructor. With about 3 hours of waiting around!
Having said that, it was still a fantastic day out

I've done a racemaster event at Brands Hatch which was great fun, but expensive @ £180 for about 3 hours (if only I was paying
)
What was good was that you were active most of the time. I've heard of others who have been elsewhere and spent all day for about the same price, but they were disappointed because they said they seemed to waste so much time doing nothing but waiting - overall they didn't seem to spend any more time in the vehicles than I did.
So check what exactly they are offering for the money before booking.
Events held at proving grounds (possibly involving skid pan training) or off road facilities are also a great experience.
Edit: just seen the above post - case in point

Thanks the above comments are helpful and has highlighted by concerns, I dont want her having 15mins of driving, I'd rather pay up to £600 for a longer experience that is worthwhile for her.0

I agree, I got bought one of the above as a gift and after a lot of thought decided the 4 hours driving to and from the track just weren't worth the 15 minutes in the car.
So sorry to the friend who bought me the gift.0
