Buying car at end of lease

Just run my lease car through "webuyanycar" and the price was higher than I was expecting by about £2k (obviously I marked it as excellent which it will have to be upon return); I was hoping to pick mine up at bottom book (glass's figures).

OP will the car need any dings or scrapes repaired before you return it (that you wouldn't bother doing if you kept it) you need to factor those costs into the equation as well.

No, the car genuinely is in excellent condition - no dents or scratches or anything....unlike mine!

Anihilator - how late should I leave it? I think my partner is concerned that he'll be left without a car (lease expires between Christmas & New Year).

This depends on what his strategy is.

Will he eventually buy it regardless? If so wait until just before Xmas, if he wants to purchase another car then this will depend on the lead time. For many new cars he has already left it too late.

Also consider it may be worth trading the car in if there is equity in it although at £6600 doubtful.

Remember they will have disposal costs so if they sell it they will probably have to spend £500-£1000 on transport, valeting, reconditioning and sale fees etc.
