Help with tv not showing picture

We have an lcd tv and use a top up tv box with it. All was well until this morning when it suddenly clicked like it does at times..froze and turned off to reset..nothing unusual tbh.

I ahve reset and nothing with the tv other than grey stripes running up and down the screen..the box appears to be working but no prog showing..

Any ideas please before i ring their premium number and sit for ages!!

First ensure that all the connections to the TV and STB etc are solid.

Check whether the TV works with using its aerial directly and/or a DVD player or VCR.

BTW Who were you going to call?

Hi sorry was prob a bit of a rushed post as had a very manic previous few mins while posting..aaanyway!! the tv works with a dvd..the screen on with the top up tv box on will not play anything..the screen is grey stripes moving down the screen..is it the box that has suddenly gone faulty? I was going to ring top up tv if it is an issue with the box?

Ok after further delving the top up box disconnected the tv has been tuned into the freeview and works fine..infact the picture and sound are amazing in comparison so pleased but still paying for something we are not getting so have rung top up and are awaiting a reply.

Why would Top Up be interested? Do they supply boxes?

Yes they do!..they are very similar to sky in that if you have a prob you call them up and they run through the probs online like resetting the box etc..they can tell when it works and whats happening with it most of the time!..they rung back and we have 2 new ones coming now.
