I am selling some trainers on ebay, and I got this message today

hiya how much wud u be willing to take incluing p+p as i need some for the gym asap please let me know

I really want to get as much as I can (I already have 13 watching) so would prefer to keep them in auction. How do you think I should reply?

What you've written here sound perfectly fine to me! I would be tempted to leave out the bit about 13 watchers or say that you have a few watchers but apart from that tell em what you've told us!!

You do afterall use the auction option to get a top bid so I don't think anyone would think you unreasonable to tell them that!

I would reply by saying sorry you don't want to sell them on a BIN and would prefer to let the auction run its course as you have quite a few watchers and it wouldn't really be fair.

Well I thought I'd sleep on it - and situation resolved itself - I have already got a bid. Do I still have to reply?

You don't have to reply to a sellers message. You could simply delete it. However, perhaps it would be polite just to send a short message.

I would just send a polite reply saying that its only available on an auction & happy bidding!

Thanks for that - I did send a polite message inviting the bidder to have a go at bidding and wishing them good luck. By the way I have 18 watchers now, with 5 days to go. Wow, I never though a pair of trainers would be so popular! Thanks for all your help.
