As title.
How long does it normally take for credit cards to be listed as settled, or closed on your credit report?

Varies according to the provider. M&S were very quick for me, as were MBNA. Co-op were slow; they only seem to update every 2 months. This is Experian experience.Ethical moneysaver0

Varies but I would say allow 3 months before spending money on getting credit reports.
Sometimes companies keep them open for a few weeks to allow the transactions to come through, also simply for their administrative processes.
Once that happens they have to report to the credit reference agencies which takes place once a month.
So I would say should be done in 2 months, but I would allow 3 if checking otherwise you risk getting your credit report several times.0 -
This is slightly off topic.
I could log in to my closed account 14 months after I had closed the card and then opened another one with the same group. Computers have long memories !

Thanks for the replies.
I started closing my cards earlier this year, and am now down to only 1 in preperation of a new batch with 0% on purchases for when my purchase of a flat completes and i have to buy a jitchen and furniture etc. Will check my credit files in a few weeks.0 -
Almost all of my cards were closed within 2 months, except for these two
Capital One - shows up as 'settled' on Experian, then always changes to "balance £0" a week later. Experian refuse to remove this information even though I cancelled my card last October - all they do is write to Capital One who say the card is closed, then reupdate with info saying it is open.
Lloyds TSB - Cancelled in January, finally marked as settled last week after a 5 month battle with them. My balance was £0, as confirmed by their monthly statements sent in February and march, yet the information they gave Experian was that my balance was £5. This stopped the card from appearing as settled until recently.0
