Does anyone know how I go about getting an iPod repaired? Does it have to be posted away anywhere? Im in Glasgow. Also, a rough estimation of cost would be good, thanks!

If it is still within the 12 months warrenty Apple should repair it free of charge but if out of warrenty I think they offer a repair service but you would have to email or phone them for a cost

which ipod is it and whats wrong with it i'll give u a quote on it,. but i dont repair ipod no more,. i can just give u a quote,.. what i learned when repiaring them was the price drops every 4 months or so like if u got a 20gig ipod too repair the lcd would be about 70£ its better too just go buy a 1/2gig nano now,. and sell the faulty ipod on ebay,..

if the Harddrives is messed up then u might aswell shoot it now

It is the U2 special edition, 20g. Well out of warranty. The bottom button on the wheel will not press in.
  • Hi, I'm no expert but I thought my iPod was dead as a dodo but I used http://www.ipod-repair.co.uk and it was far more cost effective to repair my existing iPod than to go out and buy a new one. They're not based in Glasgow - I think it was down near Manchester way. Oh and if you mention my name if you contact them - they send me some itunes vouchers! (cool referral scheme they have!) Cheers!

Lally >> that faulty sounds simple i would just open it up and have a look at it,. seems like somethings just not clicking if a lil part is broken u may be able to ojust do a lil repair ,.. but that really all depends on you,.. if u take it too a repair place they just might milk u,. it might just need a clean ??

StephenG >> u made 3 posts about ipods and links the same url,. ???? :T
  • Justpaper - what some folk do for some free vouchers eh?!! ;) No, honestly - I didnt feel confident of opening my ipod up - but if you're techie minded, I'm sure its worth it.
