    If you're just copying documents etc, it's unlikely. But certainly worth a go before spending money.

    But Dell dont provide recovery discs, do they,? as its pre-installed . £58 to cure this is quite cheap, as it take ages.

    Dell are one of the few who provide an OS reinstallation disc in the box (mostly). They're also the most infuriating, as you then have to use a separate disc to install the drivers so the thing actually works. And then another disc to install the Dell utilities software (if you so wish)

    I dont think £58 is too bad really, you could do it yourself but it might be a bit of a tiresome job to do
