You shouldn't usually. Why not provide a current reading and they will be able to adjust your statement.
Credits/debits can accrue if the meter has not been recalibrated following a price change."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Another reason is that payments from another prepayment meter could be hitting your account! This can be usually the case so becareful you get any refunds from your energy supplier, as you can be made to pay it back!:beer:In My 'Permanant' Pre-Masters Gap Year

Hi alielaine1
It sounds like your new prepayment account has not been set up correctly using an accurate meter reading for the day you moved into your new property.
If you PM me your details I will be able to look into this for you and confirm exactly what has happened.
In response to sweetstudents, this was an issue with the old prepayment meters that used the powercards for topping up. The new prepayment Key meters do not allow you to top up anyone elses meter as the Key is registered to one meter only.
I look forward to hearing from you alielaine 1 to investigate the credit balance for you.
Kind Regards

However there is the issue of prepayment purchases going to other accounts even if they have a credit meter onsite and to other suppliers, even in a different mpan area! And it does affect key meters, despite what you said.:beer:In My 'Permanant' Pre-Masters Gap Year

I agree with you Sweet Student. I have often seen mix ups with key meters and payments from other addresses hitting accounts. It will either be this or wrong reads that cause a PP meter to be in credit.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
