Heres one for some of you people
I have a 8 month old daughter who had never slept through the night. Untill recently My broadband router was on constantly. We had a storm a few weeks back and the router got fried so had to go back to netgear. During this 5 days my daughter slept through the night no problem, however on the return of a new router she started to wake up again. I have now been switching the router off some nights and on others. When its off my daughter sleep right through but if its on she wakes.
Her pattern is like this
Router on
at around 1am and 4am she wakes and cries and has to be comforted to sleep
Router off
At the same times she stirs for a few minutes but goes right back to sleep. no action from us required
She has also slept through the night downstairs where the signal is weakest but not in our bedroom (next door to the router) where the signal is 99%
I know that young people can hear things adults cant so does any one know... Could this be causing the problems??
Netgear say no evidence of this but I also have a Belkin and Actiontec router and she wont sleep through the night with any of them on.. Is this just a coincidence or could there be more to it??
Thanks

It sounds like coincidence, but you never know. The wireless frequency is 2.4Ghz, which is well out of a humans hearing range, but maybe you have stumbled across new evidence of human sensitivity to high frequency radio waves. If you can prove the link, maybe the scientific community would be interested in your findings.

Thanks for the link... Sort of puts my mind at ease. although I will try it a few more times and see how she gets on. Its just my daughter is meant to be going into the room that the router is in and I was getting worried..
Again thanks for the info0 -
my tv sounds a little different when my router is onThings that are free in life are great, well most of the time :beer:0

Hope you don't find this too strange a response. If you ask a healer they will talk about energy fields around people - really the difference between a person being alive and a corpse is the flow of energy. If this gets disrupted it causes problems. Electro magnetic fields from electrical equipment, mobile phone masts etc. can be felt by sensitive people and there is a lot of anecdotal evidence about its adverse effects. Children seem to be especially sensitive.
There are things that seem to help when they are placed on electrical things - have a search for orgonite for instance. Good luck and I hope that your daughter gets to sleep peacefully again.0 -
Right now Im up for any explanation. I left the router on last night and she woke at 12.50 am and 4.15am and we had to lift her out and rock her to sleep. Router off the previous night and she slept right through.0

The question is ... Does it affect your broadband connection ?
If not then accept that babies wake in the night.qui tacet consentire -

Really interesting thread this. I'd say not coincidence, i'm no scientist but aparently the brain works slightly differently when it's asleep. This is true again for 2 types of sleeping between infants and adults.
I've just found this...

A little update on the situation.
I have now found out it is nothing to do with the router. It seems to be my Netgear WG111T USB 2.0 Adapter. I always disconnected this when I turned the router off but on the 4th I left it on and she woke up. The next night I switched it off and left the router on and she slept right through...
Now for the good bit.
I checked my router logs and noticed that during the night my USB adapter would disconnect and reconnect to the router on average 5 times in an hour. On checking the netgear forum this is due to a driver WPA/WEP problem with the most recent drivers. I thought I had a workaround but it turns out that isnt 100% either. Anyway.. I downgraded the drivers and left the router and adapter on overnight downloading suse linux 10.1 and to my surprise my daughter slept right through and no disconnections. Looks a bit wierd but as long as she can sleep right through Im happy..
Thanks to everyone who replied to this thread0 -
That's really interesting, I don't know if it can be scientifically explained but stranger things have happened! It'd merit scientific investigation, but I have no idea who you'd contact about something like that

4 years later and a reply from me.

Let me give you a clue, the human body vibrates at around 5 - 30hz ish.
Your little girl, but not so little now :j, was being pummelled with 2400 hz and as all human's are different, she is energy sensitive.
If you care for your child, you should investigate this etherical phenomena ASAP.
We are all under EM stresses, from the 50hz in our electrical wiring to the huge Tetra masts.
The person who mentioned Orgonite, is correct.

You have a responsibility to help your child, now do it. :A0
