Transferring film slides ontoa PC/CD

Hiya - please be gentle as this is my first real post!

Hope someone can help. Have a load of slides - at least a thousand - that I want to transfer onto CD. I did have an adaptor for an old scanner, but tried it out and the results were the same as taking a photo of someone holding up a slide!

The photostore charges around 50p a go, so that's out of the question.

Have seen something by Canon, but at over £500!

Any ideas?

You could remove the frame and scan them as if they were 35mm film using a holder for 35mm that comes with some scanners(not £500)

Some of the newer Canon and Epson (Perfection) scanners have had good reviews - not used one myself though.

It will take a while to scan 1000 though, and you will need more than one CD
