Need to buy tax disc late tomorrow!

Yeah, you can get it backdated in post offices.
Bad news is you probably have a fine on the way for allowing your tax to expire without declaring your vehicle as off the road.

Might still be OK but i would certainly try and get it done before the 14th. Hope you got all the docs?0

Post Offices can only issue you a disc from the current month (November). So you will buy a 6 or 12 month disc starting now.
Then you need to write to your local DVLA office, enclosing a cheque for the missing month's (October) payment - divide the 12 month rate by 12 to get the amount. Send covering letter explaining why it is late, give registration mark, make and model plus your details.
You can find details of your local office here
Do this ASAP, you want to pre-empt the penalty that could be issued (normally after 2months missed tax)!

I believe they give you a couple of weeks grace, but I think it's already too late now.0

Grace for what?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
When I tried to do it on-line, it misses October and says I may be prosecuted. Really want to get it legal ASAP

Don't buy on line if you want to take the car on the road before the disc arrives in the post - there are no days of grace applicable for not displaying the disc.
(You get 5 days of grace only if you apply on line before your old disc expires).
DVLA automatically issue a £80 fine once you are a month late with your renewal (or SORN), so you may be too late already to prevent this.0
