With so many people researching their ancestors, beware how you order copies of old birth, marriage and death certificates. Place an order through Ancestry.co.uk, and they're £19.99 a time. Go to bmd-certificates.co.uk, and they're £25 each. But if you go direct to the General Register Office website the charge is only £7. Moreover, you'll receive them more quickly: the GRO quote despatch on the 4th working day, as opposed to up to 15 or 16 days with Ancestry or Bmd. Worth bearing in mind!
