Has anyone done one before?
Was wondering if it would be a good idea to help and encourage people to save.

There is a thread somewhere asking 'how much have you saved?' where people tally up and keep absolute track of every saving they have made as a result of MSE.
These include direct savings, cashback sites etc... I saw someone the other day mention 5k per year but thats no doubt more than average. It can't hurt to keep track of it all, and is a good idea.
Something to show the kids perhaps, or just friends that laugh at you for being here. I have plenty of them... I can't get them to save money whatsoever. They won't even go near freebies.0 -

Hi silly chuckie
I agree it is a good idea to keep track of how you are doing with savings and seeing it written down will help me to stay focused. I will do a search for the thread you mentioned.
I too can not get friends to take on my new MSE habits, though I have converted my mum and sister. Though when they eventually see or realise how much I am saving and how much they can save no doubt they will be hounding me with questions!MFWB
