Built in oven and microwave... help please

Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help please. My intergrated eye level electric double oven and microwave have both developed faults that mean they are not worth repairing, as such I need to buy a new set.

However I am struggling to find a combination that I like and will fit in the space.

The dimensions are:

double oven: 600mm wide by 900mm length
microwave: 600mm wide by 460mm length

the housing is 570mm deep

I have like the Bosh microwave HMT85ML53B and oven HBM13B150B, however the microwave is a lot smaller than my old micro.

I am crossing my fingers that someone can give advice on if this can be adapted to fit the gap (can you buy trims??) or can anyone offer any suggestions on a combination that will fit.

Hi Isodan,

Your double oven is a standard size ... any built-in double oven would fit.

Most microwaves used to be around 450mm high too, but more recently the smaller ones have taken over.

If you want to use the space you have, then you need to find a microwave of those dimensions. Bosch and Neff do one ... the HMT35M653B/C57W40 ... at 454mm high ... but with a drop down door. AEG has the MC2662EM which is 459mm high ... and De Dietrich, the DME715X at 456mm.

If you use a smaller one then you need to fill the gap with something ... usually a piece of MFC (melamine faced chipboard) - the stuff kitchen carcasses are made from (preferably to match the doors) - but it never looks really neat. As far as I know there isn't any trim you can buy.

Thank you Majjie for your help, I think I will order the bosch oven and the microwave you suggested. Just have to work out how to fit them now!
