I think you will find Morrisons sell smoked bacon joints.

My local Morrisons had smoked and unsmoked bacon joints this morning, so did iceland. Last time I was in Somerfield, a couple of weeks ago, they had them too.

Just did a search for "bacon joint" on the Tesco web site and it produced 10 different gammon joints and no bacon joints.

We love bacon joints boiled and served with leeks, sprouts & carrots (lightly boiled in the bacon water after the bacon is cooked) mashed potato and a white sauce I make with a vegatable oxo crumbled into it half-way through cooking!

Can't find any bacon joints on the Iceland website. Would be interested in knowing their price.

    They were £4.50 for a 900g joint.

I only looked at them because I had read this thread, but I remember thinking that the last time I looked at them in morrisons, they were £4.99 for a 1.2kg joint.

I bought a 1kg unsmoked bacon joint from Sainsburys today for £3.99. I made sure I got one with very little thick skin/ rind on it... less to throw away!!

  • Oh dear! seems that LizEstelle isn't doing very well in finding a decent, cheap, smoked bacon joint!:rotfl:
  • Waitrose do a smoked collar joint which is really tasty.

Years ago British Home Stores did food and used to sell gorgeous collar and gammon joints which were full of flavour. A small joint would feed 4 and have plenty left for sandwiches.
