  • Maybe see if you like John Rocha in Debenhams? He does a petite range too.

I feel your pain... I have the exact opposite problem... no hips and small bum, while being size 8. So everything that fits my bum and legs is too tight on waist and when it's fine on waist it's baggy... But I also have long legs so I need the shop to have "long" range!!

My favourite pants at the moment are ones I had made for me while I was on holiday in India and once they are gone I will have problem to find fitting pants again.. I might even try to go on holiday to India again as to have pants made there was £15!!! Not exactly money saving, but I loved the holiday..:-))

I would also try M&S, I find that bum space on their trousers is quite generous. But try all their styles and price ranges, as each style has different "bum space" if you like.. :D
  • I bought a pair a couple of weeks ago from Peacocks £16.00. They aren't the shiny type either, really nice and they machine wash really well, I nearly paid £75 for a pair in Debenhams because they fit nicely, glad I went in there first!
8 months to go till end of the IVA :j:rotfl::T
  • Tesco ones are a good reliable (very cheap) buy, the polyester is slightly 'shiny' though.

Not all tesco trousers are shiny polyester, although I admit a lot are. If you are lucky you can occasionally drop on a pair that feel and look like they are a more expensive than they are.
  • I found some nice ones in Dotty P's a few months back. They were wide leg though, as I also have the bum problem with a bit of thigh. I am a size 12 too, but none of the regular 12's seemed to fit.

I was shopping with my mom, and she made the cardinal mistake of bringing in larger sizes and at one point, maternity trousers!!! I was on the verge of bursting into tears when she redeemed herself and found them. Also being 5"2 is a pain in the !!!!!

Is it worth making an appointment with a personal shopper at Debenhams or somewhere similar? That way you get someone else rummaging through 100 pairs of trousers, and they should know what will fit well.

Is it smart trousers your after or casual trousers?

I wear alot of casual black trousers (jersey or similar fabric) as IBS (or whatever it is I have...) controls my waist-line. I know they're not cheap, but having tried so many cheaper types, I prefer to have a pair that last for years rather then months.
SweatyBetty do some great lines as do USA pro- nice fit and not so thick they pile on inches. Pure lime are more suited to sports wear alone IMO, but they do fit well. TKMaxx sell Pure lime.
Americal Apparell have also loer fitting jersey trousers but never tried them myself (budget only goes so far!) I buy stuff from ebay, charity shops and use discounts to buy from stores when I do buy them, so could be worth making a list and then shopping in the january sales when things get more heavily reduced.

Its smarter ones I'm looking for, for going out in.
Summer01 the only pair of black trousers that I truely loved were from Oasis many years ago! I had forgotten about those, they are the pants thats all my others never quite live up to, but I couldnt remember where I got them from :j
So Oasis will be my first stop, and the personal shopper idea is a great one! I will look into that I dont live far from manchester, so would love to be spoiled for abit and have the clothes brought to me:rotfl:
    £100 - £10,000
  • Try H&M. I have the same problem as yours and only get my trousers there.
