Hi Everyone
I would like to decorate my nursery in a jungle/safari theme but am not sure where to start.
We are using the box room and so space is a little tight, I have already got a kiddie wardrobe with half as hanging rails and 3 small draws and shelfs the other side and a matching bedside cabinet in pine effect (bargain at only £15.00 for both!) I was thinking of painting this and using stickers? I want to find a cotbed secondhand and then just buy the new mattress to keep costs down.
So basically its a blank canvass and i really want to make it special as it has taken us 4 years of trying for this little one (due end of March) :j We have not found out yet if its a boy or girl so the nursey will need to be for either.
I have a vauge picture of lots of brightly coloured mobiles and little shelves on the walls, wall stickers and fun things but seem to come to a stand still when it comes to making it happen and what to buy if that makes sense?
Sorry for the long post but i was hoping that some of you may have done this before and have some ideas and places to buy things from?
Thank you for reading x

Only thing I can think of that you haven't mentioned, is I would put a nice plant in there, they keep the air nice and clean for baby! My daughter has a giant banana palm in her room, but it is up high so she can't reach it.
Also in ikea they had some lovely animal theme cot/ toddler bedding for fairly cheap. They also had leafy bed canopies that might look quite good, depending on how crowded the room already is lol!0 -
Have you seen the wallpaper murals by walltastic? I'm getting the dinosaur wall for my little boy's room but they do a jungle theme as well:

Obviously not used it yet (not bought from this seller either) but looks pretty good.0 -
We have a safari theme - I painted the walls Yellow and then the radiator, skirting boards and door frame are green (it does look good).
We then got a cot bed set from Argos which had some fabric canvases with a elephant, lion and crocodile on, there is a matching mobile and uplighter as well. I got white furniture and kept the original flooring.
Eventually I will buy a nice rug but he's still in with us at the mo so no big rush. I also have some blank canvasses and some safari stencils from Hobbycraft but I'm not very arty o they might take a backseat!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Vertbaudet have some lovely items that would suit your theme, particularly their jungle and zoo ranges. These pictures are very sweet and in the sale at the moment.

what about just some pretty stick arounds, noticed today that b&q had foam shapes in different characters these would be good for 3d effect as well as plain flat stickarounds.what about paint half and half and add a jungle boarder, you can get lamps and shades plus cuddly jungle animals:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

wow, this brought back memories! many years ago i made my kids a jungle bedroom. i painted the top third of the walls and the ceiling sky blue, and the bottom two thirds of the walls leaf green, but freehand painted tree tops (large leaf shapes) to make an irregular border. i made a stensil of a largeexotic flower and painted them in yellow in random places, and painted clouds in the sky. Plain green carpet and bob was my uncle! they loved it.
thanks for prompting that memory. i had forgotten about it, nearly fifteen years on, and now i can even remember dabbing on the clouds with a sponge :-)0
