You should take your card out of the reciever and then flick through the channels to see whats available free.I used to work there and it was my job to try to encourage people not to down grade package or switch off subs either. You will be asked to give 1 months notice to cancel your account when you call providing you have had your contract for 12 months you can then give notice.Any other help i can give then please ask

All specialist staff are on big bonus jan+feb to keep people on so they are really trying hard to keep you my advice call to cancel at weekends cause weekend staff are only part time and a lot more flexable with what they offer. Some staff members can only offer so many good offers per day so thats why people phoning up get different offers. If your on the full package and say you want to go onto the family package(£19.50 i think) they will offer you something inbetween for about £29 with say movies screens 1,3,5,7,9+sports1+3
I hope this helps a little ;D0 -

when you take the card out and try flicking you get nothing but bbc1 and 2 for other channels it asks you to put the card in ::)Honesty is the best policy doesn't matter which web site
you are on!
if i had known then what i know now!
a bargain is only a bargain if you really need it!0 -
Assuming you own the equipment, you could get a Freesat card from Sky for £20 which gives you similar watchable channels as Freeview and a whole lots of stuff that is "specialist" (but not very exciting).0

ARGH! you don't need to buy the card. If you cancel an existing subscription your card does the same thing as the "freesat from sky" card. No need to pay £20 - this is not money wasting expert!!!0

Yes and no 'Tin'. I cancelled my Sky family package last year and could only receive a limited number of digital channels using the old digital card, but not ITV, ch4 or ch5. When I bought and activated the £20 card this week, I was able to receive these stations.0

And how long before you have to buy a new card?0

Didn't ask but told by mates it's after 3 years.0
