god no!!
If I was making any less than 3.5k net a month I wouldnt bother! The amount you get paid depends on where you work, what you value most - security of income or insecure income and more money (self employed route), and who gets a cut of what you earn. networks/companies/introducers etc
It also depends a lot on whether you charges fee's and how much business you write and retain - but I would say anyone stuck on a basic really can't expect to earn much more than 35-40k OTE.I am a Mortgage Adviser

The margins are tight in our industry when you consider the time and expense of providing the service - compliance, stationary, IT, insurance etc... That is why a lot of advisers will charge fees these days to help cover the expenses and make a profit.
I would say that 30-40k a year is the minimum an adviser should be earning in their first year of doing the job with this increasing steadily over the next few years - the key to this increase will be a combination of a few things - becoming more familiar with products, thus becoming quicker in sourcing, becoming quicker at packaging and doing admin, thus having the capability of seeing more clients and of course there is then the returning clients who comeback to discuss their mortgages at the end of their fixed rate deals.
Mortgage advising provides a good income and rewarding career but it is bloody hardwork. I know we make it look easy but it isnt lol...I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
