Would it be awful for me to say.. drop by the property in question to ask the occupier how much it was, if I don't receive a response to the second email I've sent to the EA? ;) has anyone had to do this before?

If you've got the time, the inclination, and the petrol money (or shoe leather) to drop by the houses for sale, why not just drop by the EAs who are selling them, and ASK THEM?

It strikes me that if you send an e-mail via a website, and it doesn't reach its destination outside the website, who's going to know? The recipient won't, and unless you tell the website owner that your mails don't seem to be reaching who they should, the website owner might not realise.....
  • I like to use email for lots of things, but Estate Agents are definitely one business where the phone is still king. I think most would probably take the view that somebody emailing is probably not that interested and would give it the lowest priority, regardless of your actual interest.
