Hi could you tell me if there is a nunchuck already in there as well as a remote or not as everytime I sneak into the xmas hiding place the kids sniff me out lol, I think that I remember using a nunchuck at a friends house for the boxing on Wii sports and if thats the case I will get another for the 2 player.G_Model101 wrote: »Am I the only one that fails to see where anyone has stated that you "need" to play the wii wheel for Mario Kart Wii or people suggesting that you "need" to buy any accessories?Thriftkitten

to put things simply.
You NEED
The console (which comes with one controller and one nunchuck)
Extra controller and nunchuk - if want to play together.
You DO NOT NEED
Charging station - ordinary rechargable batteries are better (IMO)
wheel - Much easier to use the remote and nunchuk (again IMO)
Motion plus - unless you are getting sports plus.
the set of sports addons, tennis racket, golf club etcNever put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

OK thanks all - I understand all that now . Have shortened my list.
Ok Next question - I want to get F1 for OH for xmas. There is a F1 wheel that can come with it (Amazon), Will the ordinary wheel that comes with mariokart work on F1? Any ideas, I know its not released yet.
Thanks0 -
u need a console case, motionplus, (of course) the mario kart wii and sports resort for all your family0

I personally bought:
the Wii Play game, as it came with another controller, for barely more in price.
an extra nunchuk, as it's used in both games.
When I was bought MarioKart, we got an extra wheel. If you aren't bothered about branding, you can get these in poundshop. Ours is branded, was only an extra 6.99.
We also have a Wii Fit, with board. The board is used in a number of other games too. But this is specific to whether you want to play those games.
For games, I've kept a solid eye on these forums. EG, mario and sonic at the olympics is on special, which apparently is a good game for kids.
I'd recommend a docking station (on here for £14.99 from somewhere) or rechargeable batteries (probably most cost effective) as our batteries have been replaced a lot. And cheap batteries don't last.0 -
Argos have a half price offer on the Wii remote quad charger £12.49 (566/9295) and it includes the batteries and £5 off the 3in 1 Quad powerstation for £14.99 (566/9453)0

Honestly, as davetrousers said, all you need is an extra wiimote and a nunchuck.
Forget the other accessories and attachments - they are just a scam for a quick buck.
I wouldn't really bother with Wii Play (which comes with a free wiimote) as it is a pretty rubbish game and was only designed to introduce newcomers on the whole wiimote thing.
Instead if you look around you can buy the wiimote along with the nunchuck for the same price (~30-35 pounds) on the internet.
Don't listen to the other people about the wiimote charger/stand solutions. Just use AA batteries or get some high capacity rechargeables (2500mAh lasts for ages!)
For games, I would recommend New Super Mario Brothers and Mario Kart for multiplayer.0 -
I'm also a wii newbie who'll have a houseful for christmas so I've cheated - my sister's family have a wii so I've asked them to bring whatever's needed with them
Hopefully EA's BoomBloxBashParty or whatever nonsensical name it has will be fun for allEat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan
