The body shop was recently bought out by Loreal. However, there has been much discussion on other message boards, and I have a mate who works at lreal, and she states that Body shop will remain "fairtrade" and that Loreal is trying to become more ethical in order to feed off off the body shop buyer.
try as I might, I remain convinced that particularly in Africa, breast milk isnt acceptable due to the high incidences of HIV transmission, and that some company will always dominate the market in dry milk supply. Here in the UK, HIV positive mothers are given free powdered milk and also sterilising equipment if they are on a low income to deter breastfeeding, along with other areas of Europe AFAIK. However, in the developing world, the issue of supply and decent equipment water etc, remains an issue, and nestle among others I believe have a duty to provide powdered milk equipment & support, in the same way that Pharmaceutical companies have to act.
Plus Im also a fan of drifters. Which I try to give up for ethical reasons but Im not perfect:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Hi everyone,
I understand that buying or not buying nestle products can provoke emotive responses, but please can we keep this thread on topic to try to help recovering spendaholic with her original query.
Thanks,
Pink0
