Just been in and got my 6 bottles of Cava from The Trafford Centre store, and so I am all prepared for xmas.

They still have loads left in store. This was an truly amazing spot, thanks OP :T

(Slightly off topic here but I spotted that M&S have "xmas pickles" on buy 1 get 1 free, and they had pickled onions and beetroot at 65p a jar in this offer, so that was another xmas bargain I picked up with my cava) :D
    Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once. :D

Got a couple of boxes of the Medium Dry (their version of Demi-Sec) yesterday and tried one last night, I was surprised how nice it was so just went and picked up a few more this morning.

Do you normally drink medium or dry wine though? I bought a few of each yesterday and gave my mum one. She's not normally that bothered about cava and prefers wine but knocked a bottle back with my sister last night and asked me to get some more today!! That was the dry one and they normally drink dry wine.

I have just got back from buying my cava - mixed the 2 types as couldn't decide which was nicest ;)

I came on to post about the other great deals in M&S
They did have bogofs on most of their washing powder/gel/laundry products, but most of them seem to have finished....now seems to be kitchen, bathroom, mirror/window cleaners on bogof.

I did treat myself to some of their pickles which BBTHREE posted about.
Will be nice to get the 'posh' M&S jars out for Xmas tea rather than decant the smart-price ones into posh bowls to hide my shame:o

Really impressed with M&S food hall at the moment, they are having some great deals.....their Mulled Wine and Sangria have also been on offer....NOT that I'm an alcoholic of course:whistle:

But, today they were handing out shortbread and port.....well what is an old bag to do to keep the cold out:D:confused:

I got 6 bottles from the Stockport store today.:j
Before I took the plunge i asked an assistant if 2for £10 would be 25% off she asked another sa and she was just about to say NO:eek: when a VERY nice young man came up to me and said YES:T and he even helped me to get mine off the shelf. :DHe told me they had loads in the back and to tell my friends!:rotfl:;)
  • Hi got my 6 bottles from Kettering today :j Had to hunt for them as they seemed well hidden! Could only find a small stand with them on at the end of an aisle in the food department.

Asked a assistant and she said they were into reserve stocks!
    Looking forward to Christmas 2009!!

To be honest we are not White wine drinkers at all its mainly the usual Californian reds we go for, the exception being the sparklies - Champagne or Cava we dont mind whichever but in recent times we've found that many Cava's are as good as some of the Champagnes that are 2 to 3 times the price.

The Demi-Sec (or Medium Dry) always tastes a little lighter than the Dry/Brute so at parties (at our home) people tend to think its not as strong so it goes down very well but can catch you out.

I think its good to have some of both in the house :D
