Recently had this drawn to my attention.

Not completely up to date in some areas, but still quite useful. If you run your mouse pointer over it you get photos and more info come up in new small windows.
I can't seem to find the "home" page for this facility, so you will need to insert the three letter code for the station you want in place of the BRI in the link above.

Type in the station name, then choose Stations Made Easy and you end up with the photos etc0 -
This is still being tested for some TOCs so the database will not be all up to scratch but they basically show what you see on the 'Welceme to XXXX station' poster at all stations.
Great tool if your worried about disability accessone of the famous 5

Great for people going to new stations... as for you saying there's a poster at all stations [1] I doubt people mostly notice if they rarely go [2] there won't be one at my station which has no posters at all, or anything. Just a platform.geordieracer wrote: »This is still being tested for some TOCs so the database will not be all up to scratch but they basically show what you see on the 'Welceme to XXXX station' poster at all stations.

And an annoyance ... why do stations never seem to tell you which side to stand on for the right train. I used my small/local station a few times and there is no clue given as to which track/side was the right one. Luckily there was another passenger (just the one) so I could ask.0 -

Which station do you use? I find it strange they dont have a board telling you which direction of travel which side is for,.one of the famous 5

Useful link OP, hadn't noticed it on the National Rail website before.PasturesNew wrote: »And an annoyance ... why do stations never seem to tell you which side to stand on for the right train.
I've never been to a station which didn't have boards saying when the next train will be and/or timetables stuck on the walls saying when and what platforms the trains are from.0 -
