Can someone please help. I have yellow "warning triangle" flashing on the bottom right of information bar. Keeps poping up a message sayin "system alert: Spyware detected. There are 4 spyware detected. To remove click on icon.
When you click on it it brings up various different anti spyware, adware etc. software ads.
This triangle is only on the bottom bar when I am connected to the internet. I ran microsoft defender this morning prior to connecting to the internet and it found and removed mirar. I also have mcafee internet security suite but loaded this after this triangle had appeared. My computer is going really slow and I am too scared to look at my bank etc.
Anyone got any ideas.
Many thanks

This is a Winfixer variant, these are false warnings to get you to buy the software but may be bundled with a Trojan

Removal Steps:
Download VundoFix.exe and save it to your desktop.
- Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
- Place a check in the checkbox labeled Run VundoFix as a task. You will receive a message stating that VundoFix will close and re-open in a minute or less.
- When VundoFix reopens, click the OK button.
- Click the Scan for Vundo button.
- Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
- You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click the YES button.
- Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
- When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click the OK button.
- When the computer has shutdown, turn your computer back on.
- The Winfixer/Vundo infection should now be cleaned from your computer. If you are still having a problem then please proceed to Step 2.
This step should only be used if the instructions in Step 2 did not remove the infection.
Download VirtumundoBegone and save it to your desktop.

I kept getting this problem and asked Telewest what to do and they told me to download a programme called Noadware - you will have to google Noadware as I can't remember the site addy - and since I have this I just run it a couple of times a week and I don't have any problem. It picks up stuff that Norton doesn't. Don't know if it may be of any use to you.Jane
