Afaik unless the handset was purchased online t-mobile do not offer a cooling off period on any of their pre pay or monthly handsets.
With the handset being faulty I would expect most mobile phone retaillers to exchange within 14/28 days of purchase for a new handset (same model).0 -
Update 2:
Well I took it back and because the phone was bought 7 days or less ago they replaced it, any more than 7 days and it has to go off for repair according to t-mobile.
As I got a Pay As You Go phone all I had was the receipt so no contract to check.
Thanks for the info on reconditioned phones, I checked the phone and it looked new, came from a unopened box and that's about as far as I could check (maybe they had just replaced the covers but i'm not taking it apart to see!
Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions.

Thats the result that I'd expect - its exactly the same as the 3 shop.
There is no cooling off period except if the phone is unused - the beeb raised it recently where individuals had bought handsets to discover that their reception was insufficient. Its essentially buyer beware as far as mobile phones are concerned but consumer groups are pushing for this to be changed.0
