Best Boiler Timer Settings
Hi All
I was wondering if anyone knew what the best boiler time settings would be. I am trying to save heating costs but also not freeze to death at the same time. We currently rent a large 4 bedroom house which has a pantry, kitchen/dining room, living room, and study. I have tried setting the timer on the boiler for times i think we would be at home and need the heat but the house still does not feel warm enough. Timer settings are set to ON roughly as follows:
* 1-3am
* 6-9am
* 2-4pm
* 8-11pm
The house is centrally heated but I have to turn up the radiators individually.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

How well insulated is the property? Who is up and about in the middle of the night? What time do you all go to bed, get up, leave the house? How many people are at home during the day and how many rooms do they use? What ambient temperature do you call 'freezing'?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

So this is just the time that the boiler is on, rather than working from a thermostat timer.
I'd recommend getting a unit like I have which is a combined timer and thermostat.
My weekday program is as follows
5.20am 20C - Warms the place up ready for getting up.
8.00am 12C - We've both gone out to work so heating effectively off
3.30pm 20C - We usually get back at about 4.30ish so the heating has had a good hour to heat the house up.
9.30pm 12C - Effectively off again overnight as our duvet is very warm!0 -
On 40 min before you come back to the house or get up. Off 20 min before you leave the house or go to bed. If you are out in the evenings, an off period similar to the above, and use manual override if you stay in. Adjust according to experience.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
