I should ask to be tested for PCOS by your doctor, although you could have a mild form of it (I do) and break out in spots (aged 38, didn't even have them as a teenager! Grrr!)
They'll also do blood/urine/insulin tests on you (prob at the hospital) to establish what your hormones are up to.

I've tried Zineryt but it was a bit harsh. Doc has now given me Duac gel which is much better.

Oh yes! i had acne from about 17 til i got pregnant at 28, so i know how it feels but whatever you do don't let the docs give you antibiotics as a medication...they cause more problems than they solve  i was on them for 6+ years solid.

The topical antibiotics work just as well like zineryt, do dry your skin but work. I found clinique turnaround cream helped when i used this topical antibiotic but it is quite expensive but contains salicylic acid that renews skin surface...so therefore getting rid of dry skin caused by zineryt.

Also i found dianette pill good for skin but could not take due to thrombosis issues.

These days there is light therapy and some info here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/838201.stm i used to hammer the sunbeds but not the same lol :D

    HTH and good luck xx
