Three '3' contracts nightmare!!!

Hi,
I've got three contracts out with '3'. One is a mobile phone, the second is mobile broadband, and the third is a laptop and broadband bundle (they wouldn't let me have a seperate contract for a laptop so had to get another dongle!)
I am now, obviously, worse off financially. The contracts cost me around £120 each month and I don't use any of them as much as I pay for. A debt agency referred me to this site for help to get 3 to agree a lower fee or just cancel.
Any advice?????

  • When did you take each contract out, and do you know how long each contract was for?

It certainly sounds as though you are paying for mobile broadband twice -- once as mobile broadband and once included with the laptop. So the mobile broadband is the first thing to look at.

Obviously the two mobile broadband contracts are the problem here.
Do you have a relative or friend who could take over the mobile broadband contract without the laptop?
Or can you contact 3 about lowering your price plans at all, especially as it's averaging £40p/m for each.

There is no reason for them to cancel them (or reduce the cost), unless possibly it was missold?

Dependant on the length of time the customer has been with 3, they can lower the tariff to make it cheaper. Albeit they'll recieve less of an allowance, but they said they were not using all of it anyway.

With most 3 tariffs you are not able to downgrade during the minimum term.

I was able to downgrade mine after 9 months, this was back last year though. Still a mix and match which I believe they still do.

EDIT: Just contacted three's online store query and you can downgrade after 9 months on an 18 month contract on any plan.
