PPI & Welcome Finance

WE are trying to claim back two lots of PPI from Welcome finance, my husband was told the loans were fully protected and it was only when we recently went back and checked the paperwork we found the PPI insurance charge. We wrote to Welcome and they have come back saying they cant look into it without further info and enclosed a questionnaire.
It asks for items such as job details including hours worked etc ? Why do they need that?
Also how much detail do we have to give them, my husband took out the loans two years ago and his memory is a little foggy!
Thanks
Eleanor

Hello and welcome;) (no pun intended) lol
These questionnaires now seem to be part of the reclaiming process, for instance if they no longer hold all the details, yet if the account is still running they should still hold all of them on data.
I take it you have already sent them a letter to reclaim on the PPI then?
I would in your case, try to complete the form to the best of your knowledge, and in brackets in some of the questions tell them (please refer to my letter dated XX/XX/XXXX), you can also tell them your aware that they still also hold the details on the account from when this was sold to you (your husband then).
They still have 8 weeks from the date of your letter you sent them.
Many assume its a stalling tactic, but if you hear nothing at all from them as soon as the 8 weeks have passed as from your letter, you can take your complaint to the financial ombudsman service (FOS).
What year did you take out your loan? The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Thanks thats helpful. One of the loans was in Oct 06 and has now finished. The other was in May 07 and is still being repaid. I have sent them a letter already on 17 Oct but they have stated they received on 29 Oct so i guess i have to wait 8 weeks from then.
I'll give it a go.
Thanks
