BT Cancellation within 12 months - is there a way out ?

I moved into a new rented property a month ago and setup a BT line (the cheapest option).
For personal reasons I have had to move out of the property and new tenants are moving in on saturday.
This means I have to cancel the BT phone line which they are quoting a cancellation fee of £84.
You have to pay £7.50 per month for the rest of the time remaining on the contract.
I have had no option but to move out of the property and im now living back with parents.
So I cant even transfer the BT line to a different house.
Is there anyway out of this ?
Is there a 28 day cancellation time or anything like that, because the phone line only became active on the 21st October.

No, you signed up for a year and that is what they will ask you for. Normally the termination fee is the balance owing on the minimum term, i.e. the monthly price x the no. of months left. If you are on the basic line rental plus E&W cals, then that would be £11.25pm, so £7.50 is rather less than that.No free lunch, and no free laptop

That no longer applies
"Cancelling or ending the service
You can cancel your order, free of charge, before we have provided the service. If you end the service after we provide it, you will incur a single charge of £7.50 (with the Unlimited Weekend or Unlimited Evening & Weekend plans) or £8.00 (with the Unlimited Anytime plan) for each month left of your 12 or 18 month minimum period."
